6.2.1 Creating the Part

In this tutorial you will create the single part stangen_querverbinder (rod cross-connector) of the Mindstorms® robot. Due to the complexity of the component, you will create a simplified version. In the following pictures however, the original part will be shown. (see "Stangen_Querverbinder")

Since you will need the part not only for the assembly to be created later, but also for chapter 9 ("PMI") of this tutorial, it is important that you construct the stangen_querverbinder correctly.

Stangen_Querverbinder

Create an item named stangen_querverbinder according to the naming convention. 

The dimensions of the component can be taken from the technical drawing (see drawing "Stangen_Querverbinder"). 

Note:

After modeling the item, color it in Pale Plum (#117). (see chapter 4.5.4 "Assigning Colors") 

Note:

Generally, color assignment can also be made inside an assembly later on. Doing so would only affect the displayed color inside the assembly.
