1.2 User interface representation in this Tutorial

This tutorial only descibes parts of NX's interface that are relevant for your CAD lecture. The following representation is used throughout this tutorial:

  • White font on black background represents a window in a certain software.
  • The name of a Button is framed and on grey background.
  • Submenus in other menus are seperated by "->" e.g.: File -> open.
  • If you have to use your keyboard for input, the text you have to enter is marked bold (e.g.: z=0.5).
  • Dropdown-menus are represented like this.
  • Red Font is used for important advice.
  • Italic is used to mark a convention, that is used for naming a certain NX file. E.g.: name.prt implies, that name should be replaced by the actual name of your model.
  • Commonly used menus like File, Edit, etc. are represented by standard text
  • Sometimes icons (e.g.: alt) are used to represent certain buttons.
  • left-, right- and center mouse buttons are abbreviated by  LMBRMB and CMB.
