With the command Optimize Face 
you can optimize the surface of a body, so that this mostly very complex surface is analytically simplified by the program. This reduces computing time and also the amount of data considerably.
You can also use this function to detect fillets and optimize edges according to their tolerances.
This function does not change the geometric properties of your model. You will therefore not notice any difference in your component.
