4.2.3 Form Features

Form features are features that resemble a specific technical function. E.g. groove, holes, chamfer, edge blend.

They contain additional technical information that is relevant for production. For example, a drill bit tip is automatically added to a hole ending within a body, since that's important for production.

This chart lists the features that will be explained and used in the following chapters:

Adds a hole to one or multiple bodies of a model or an assembly with multiple options, like counterbore, etc.
Adds a cylindrical boss to a surface of a volumetric body.
Adds a pocket to a volumetric body or changes a planar body with planes by projecting a curve along a vector.
Adds a pad to a volumetric body or changes a planar body with planes by projecting a curve along a vector.
Adds an internal or external groove to a cylindrical or conical surface of a volumetric body.
Trims a part of a volumetric body along a plane.
