Conclusion

You have learned about the digital factory approach which focuses on the virtual production planning. Tecnomatix Plant Simulation is one of the digital factory tools. It is a discrete-event simulation tool for the planning, realisation and establishment of production systems and processes, the flow of materials and logistic operations.

In Tecnomatix the object-oriented approach is used. It allows to set class attributes for reuse as well as object attributes for single processes.

In the next chapter the implementation of symbolic models within Tecnomatix Plant Simulation is explained. Every tutorial chapter provides step-by-step instructions for modelling and extension of given examples.
