The flow control object allows to splitting or merging the material flow. Flow control objects do not process the material unit, they only distribute them. Thus material units pass them without any processing time.

Enhance your simulation model

Task:

Distribute the material units after their in-house production to their appropriate next station:

• The housing cover is further assembled in the PreAssembly_HousingCover station and
• The piston rod is needed in the PreAssembly_PistonRod station.
• Configure a flow control to distribute the material flow appropriate.

Step-by-Step:

1. Create a "Flow Control" object in the "Frame".
2. Connect the "Manufacturing" object and the "Flow Control". Then first connect the "Flow Control" with the "PreAssembly_HousingCover" and then with the "PreAssembly_PistonRod".
3. The order is important for the further steps. In case that you have to reorder the connectors, right-click on the "FlowControl" and select "Reorder Successors".
4. Open the "FlowControl", select "MU Name" as strategy and open the list (1).
5. Insert the names of the material units and the successor. Keep in mind the order of the connectors. Hover the connector in case you do not remeber the number of the successor.
