Simulation

The event controller coordinates the different events (see figure 1). As Tecnomatix Plant Simulationis a event-discrete simulation tool, the simulation steps from event to event (1). Double-click the event controller to define the simulation speed (3), the start and the end of the simulation. You can also choose to run the simulation in real-time (or a multiple of the real-time) (4).

Figure 1: Event controller with current time (1), button to control the simulation (2), simulation speed (3) or real-time speed option (4).

There are some buttons in the Control tab that help you to control your simulation more precise for example to step from event to event or to run your simulation without any animation (2).

Enhance your simulation model

Task:

  • Simulate your current simulation model.
  • Examine the different material units before and after the assembly.
  • Look at the event debugger.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Open the event controller.
  2. Reduce the simulation speed to "40%" (see figure 1).
  3. Run your simulation by pressing on the green play symbol.
  4. Reset your simulation by pressing on the red fast backward symbol.
  5. Try a real time. You will see all events happen realy fast!
  6. Reset your simulation by pressing on the red fast backward symbol.
  7. Open the event debugger by pressing on the list symbolat the right side of the button list of the event controller.
  8. Press "F10" to analyse step by step your simulation events (see figure 2).

Congratulations! Your virtual factory produces pneumatic cylinders.

As soon as the simulation "finishes" as there are no more events a report is shown. You can close it if desired.
