3.1.3 Saving Current Layout

In contrary to Process Designer, the Save option only saves any changes made in the loaded study as Process Simulate Study file (*.psz) in the local machine without updating the project in the eMServer. This file can be opened in Process Simulate or Process Simulate Disconnected. However, if you update the project later, the current state of the project will not be reflected in the saved *.psz file.

Updating eMServer

In order to save the changes made with Process Simulate in the loaded study or in the project into the database, you must update the eMServer. By doing so, the latest project update is made available in the database and the updated version is loaded the next time you open Process Designer or Process Simulate. Save the current state of the project in the database and update the eMServer using one of the following steps:

  • Select File > eMServer Selective Update from the menu bar
  • Click the eMServer Selective Update button from the toolbar

The eMServer Selective Update option enables you to update the eMServer selectively. This means that you can select which elements should be updated in the eMServer Update window. For example, you can choose whether you want to update the changes made in Parts, Resources, Operations or whether you want to save the study data only.
