3.1 Introduction to Process Simulate

Process Simulate is one of the Tecnomatix application suites. The Process Simulate suite enables process verification and detailed process authoring. It provides capabilities to design, analyze, simulate and optimize manufacturing processes from the factory level down to lines and workcells. Process Simulate includes both Robcad and Human applications.

Launching Process Simulate

There are two options to run Process Simulate: with or without connecting to the eMServer. In the first option, you launch Process Simulate, either via direct access or from within Process Designer. The launched Process Simulate application is connected to the eMServer and you can access the latest information or study data of an existing project.

  1. To launch Process Simulate via direct access, double-click the Process Simulate icon or select Start (Windows) > Programs > Tecnomatix > Engineering Applications > Process Simulate.
  2. Similar to Process Designer, the Login to eMServer window opens. Now you can log in with your user name and password.
  3. The Open Project window opens and displays a list of existing projects available for the logged in user. The projects listed are the same projects available in Process Designer.
  4. Select a project and click OK. The main window of Process Simulate will then launch.

The second option is known as Process Simulate Disconnected. It is a standalone application that can run a local instance of a saved Process Simulate Study file (*.psz) without connecting to the eMServer. Any changes made in the *.psz file in Process Simulate Disconnected will not be saved in the eMServer.

The disconnected version of Process Simulate can be launched from the Process Simulate Disconnected icon or by selecting Start (Windows) > Programs > Tecnomatix > Engineering Applications > Process Simulate Disconnected. If you launch Process Simulate Disconnected, you do not have to log in to the eMServer.
