3.2.4 Device Operation

A device operation enables you to define the motion between two poses of a device or a robot as an operation. In order to be able to create a device operation, you need to define the pose first using the Mark Pose and Pose Editor option. This can be created either in Process Designer or in Process Simulate. You can create a device operation using one of the following steps (if the options are not available, select a robot or a device first, either in the Graphic Viewer or from the Object Tree):

  • Select Operations > New Operation > New Device Operation from the menu bar,
  • Right-click and select New Device Operation from the context menu,
  • Click the New Device Operation button on the toolbar.

A New Device Operation dialog box appears with several fields and options. The name of the device should be listed in the Device field. Select the pose, from which the operation should run from the available poses in From Pose dropdown list, and the pose, to which the operation should run, from the available poses in To Pose dropdown list. By default, all device operation takes 5 seconds. You can change the duration in the Duration field if you wish to.
